MARIA MARIA! Explorando a identidade filipina por meio do design gráfico e Mixed-Media
Resumo
Esse projeto conduzido pela prática explora a identidade filipina por meio de design gráfico de mídia mista, perguntando como duas metades de uma identidade feminina pré e pós-colonial podem existir em harmonia visual e narrativa. Por meio de uma série de sete montagens, a praticante leva as paisagens ousadas e as criaturas brilhantes e coloridas da mitologia filipina pré-colonial para o espaço intensamente sagrado dos santuários devocionais. Ao fazer isso, o projeto analisa áreas importantes da narrativa ocidental, do cubismo filipino e da assemblage do século XX. Ao usar dispositivos ocidentais para enquadrar o conteúdo indígena, o praticante espera criar uma narrativa familiar e atemporal com um toque nativo.
