MARÍA MARÍA Exploración de la identidad filipina a través del diseño gráfico e Mixed-Media

Resumen

Este proyecto práctico explora la identidad filipina a través del diseño gráfico en técnica mixta, preguntándose cómo pueden existir dos mitades de una identidad femenina pre y poscolonial en armonía visual y narrativa. A través de una serie de siete montajes, la artista traslada los atrevidos paisajes y las coloridas criaturas de la mitología filipina precolonial al espacio intensamente sagrado de los santuarios devocionales. Para ello, el proyecto revisa aspectos clave de la narrativa occidental, el cubismo filipino y el ensamblaje del siglo XX. Al utilizar recursos occidentales para enmarcar contenidos autóctonos, el artista espera crear una narración atemporal y familiar con un toque nativo.

Maria Pilar Cruz, Auckland University of Technology

Pilar Cruz es una creativa multidisciplinar que dedica su tiempo a explorar la intersección entre palabras, imágenes y medios. Su investigación profundiza en el papel de la narración, especialmente entre culturas y generaciones, examinando el poder de la representación visual y escrita en los medios de comunicación.
