The Sports Performance Research Institute New Zealand (SPRINZ) at Auckland University of Technology is globally recognised for its high-impact research on how to optimise human health, wellbeing, organisation capability, physical performance and long-term athletic development. The SPRINZ Emerging Research Journal (SERJ) is a peer-reviewed, quarterly journal with the editorial mission to promote research in the areas of sport, exercise, and health science broadly. More specifically, SERJ publishes quantitative and qualitative research in the areas of human movement, injury prevention, sports physiology and nutrition, sports technology, strength and conditioning, youth and long-term athlete development, sports leadership and management, physical activity, and physical and mental health optimisation. Importantly, the focus of SERJ is emerging research, as it is a home not only for new and innovative studies, but also research published by students and early career researchers.
