YWCA study partnering with young women on the impact of COVID-19 - Pacific Health vol 5, 2022
In the evolving landscape of health research, the voices of youth are emerging as powerful catalysts for innovation and change. This special issue of Pacific Health - to be published in Volume 8, 2025 - is dedicated to exploring the multifaceted contributions of emerging young researchers and young participants and the vital importance of their perspectives in shaping the future of health. We invite authors to submit abstracts or full articles that delve into the subject of youth voices in research, highlighting themes such as codesign, partnership, representation of youth communities, and the role and experiences of new and emerging researchers.
The inclusion of youth in research processes not only enriches the quality and relevance of findings but also ensures that the diverse needs and insights of young populations are adequately represented. Through codesign and collaborative partnerships, young researchers and young participants bring fresh, innovative ideas and approaches to longstanding health challenges. Their involvement promotes a sense of ownership and commitment to the outcomes, fostering a more inclusive and equitable research environment.
This special issue seeks to illuminate the dynamic roles of new and emerging researchers and young participants, providing a platform for them to share their unique experiences, challenges, and successes. We believe that by amplifying these voices, we can inspire a new generation of researchers who are dedicated to advancing health equity and improving outcomes for all.
We invite you to submit an abstract or a full article (see Submissions for further details) on this topic by 30 November 2024. Those submitting an abstract will be given feedback and an opportunity to submit a full article. We particularly welcome new and emerging researchers. Articles will be published in Volume 6 of the journal.
