Resumo

Single Handed' é um projeto conduzido pela prática que investiga como as publicações em scrapbook podem ser usadas para comunicar perspectivas de deficientes. Situado no contexto da cultura da deficiência e das artes da deficiência, em que a deficiência é usada para descrever as barreiras na sociedade para pessoas com deficiências, o Single Handed explora como as técnicas de scrapbooking podem ser usadas para criar imagens que compartilhem experiências de deficientes. Utilizo meus conhecimentos e experiências como pessoa com deficiência por meio de uma abordagem autoetnográfica para abordar e comunicar minha história por meio de técnicas de criação de imagens. O objetivo dessa publicação de scrapbook é proporcionar às pessoas sem deficiência uma melhor compreensão do que significa ser deficiente.

Biografia do Autor

Mia Freeman, Auckland University of Technology

Mia Freeman é uma designer de comunicação em Auckland, Nova Zelândia. Seu design e sua pesquisa exploram áreas de artes para deficientes, com base em suas próprias experiências como designer deficiente. Ela está interessada em criar designs que ajudem a mudar a maneira como as pessoas sem deficiência veem a deficiência.
