Do Terceiro Lugar: Illustrations and Observations of Connection in the Inner City (Ilustrações e Observações da Conexão no Interior da Cidade)

Resumo

From Third Place é um projeto conduzido pela prática que explora o conceito de terceiro lugar em relação à sociedade do centro da cidade, especificamente o Auckland CBD, usando os métodos antropológicos culturais tradicionais de trabalho de campo e desenho observacional para explorar terceiros lugares em Auckland. Esse projeto aborda o conceito de terceiro lugar e sua função na sociedade e no indivíduo, refletindo sobre como nos conectamos em nosso ambiente. Esse projeto é fortemente influenciado por minha graduação anterior em antropologia cultural e história da arte. A pesquisa é explorada por meio da publicação em três capítulos de ilustrações observacionais que se concentram nos principais terceiros lugares usados na vida cotidiana pelos residentes do centro de Auckland: cafés, parques e pubs. A publicação resultante é uma série de instantâneos da vida na cidade. O objetivo desse projeto é explorar a conexão de indivíduos na cidade e celebrar os terceiros lugares que os facilitam.

Grace Elizabeth Naylor, Auckland University of Technology

Grace Elizabeth Naylor é uma ilustradora e graduada em Design de Comunicação pela AUT. Sua pesquisa examina o papel dos terceiros lugares em ambientes urbanos. Documentando por meio de desenho observacional, ela explora lugares de comunidade por meio de uma lente antropológica cultural.
