Author Guidelines

Word Count: 800-1200.

Page Layout And Font: As per the templates - A4 Portrait, Margins 3cm Left and Right; 2.5cm Top and Bottom, Font: Arial, 12 point, 1.5 spacing.

Figures: Figures are to be placed in the body of the article with clear captions. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Equations should be presented as figures with appropriate captions. Permission must be obtained for any third party copyrighted figures or images.

Abbreviations: Write out abbreviations in full the first time it appears in the article.

Citations And Reference List: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). References should follow APA 7th referencing style. For questions on references and style, consult the following APA guide at AUT University: APA 7th Referencing Style Guide

Copyright: Make sure you have copyright permission if including somebody else’s work such as images or figures.

AI: At the end of your submission, provide the full name of any AI tools used (with version number), how they were used, and the reason for use. 

Keywords: Keywords are optional.

Templates: Research Summary, Research Overview, Research Letter

Author bios: Images containing only the author can be added.

Submission: To submit click on 'Make a Submission' to the right of the screen. When asked to select which section you're submitting to select 'Research Summary', 'Research Overview' or 'Research Letter'.



 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission relates to the upcoming issue's theme
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • I am a current or recent postgraduate student at AUT.
  • I have read the AI Policy, https://ojs.aut.ac.nz/rangahau-aranga/1/about and have disclosed any AI tools used, how they were used, and the reason for use.
