Abstract

In an age defined by algorithmic amplification, fragmented public discourse, and the erosion of trust in institutions, the media’s role as a social architect demands renewed scrutiny. This issue of the journal explores the dual role of media as both construct—a framed reality—and constructive, i.e. needed for development. But constructive media is not a retreat from critique, but a recalibration of purpose. It seeks to inform without inflaming, to engage without exploiting, and to illuminate complexity rather than reduce it to binary frames.
