A Response to Philip Culbertson's Presentation.

Abstract

The author responds to a paper by Philip Culbertson which focuses on the topics of sex, gender and sexuality presented at a seminar held in the University of Auckland in New Zealand on July 18, 2008. The author believes that sexuality, like gender, is not about the discovery of an innate or essential identity, existing independently of language. The author contends that counselling and psychotherapy are called to be counter-cultural.
