Abstract

Movement is a fundamental, organic and intrinsic aspect of our lives. In this paper I discuss a psychotherapy of movement: in which the fundamental movement of our existence is included as a fundamental part of the therapy, and where that movement is taken a step further into the realm of dance.

Jennifer De Leon

Jennifer De Leon, MNZAP, names her psychotherapy work "The Healing Dance". She is also a choreographer, performer and tutor of contemporary dance. The focii of Jennifer's life and work are dance - her metaphor for the ability to flow with and be in this moment- and to awaken the dancer in others - that dancer being the vitality within that holds us, against whatever odds, to our vision, whatever that may be. Jennifer works in private practice and raises her two young children.
